    Need help with installing windows

OK, so I've tried to install various versions of Windows (XP/7 5 versions total) and every time the discs try to load files, I get a BSOD. I have no idea why this is happenine. My best guess would have to be that my IDE controller is causing it. But I formatted the IDE hard drive with a couple different versions... Do you think it might help to load the driver for the IDE controller onto an install disc? If so, I cant remember how to do that, so any suggestions of how to do it?

    Thanks

You shouldn't need drivers for IDE to do the install. An motherboard-specific (or chipset-specific) IDE drivers only increase performance on the IDE ports.

Are you using a USB optical drive, or is it IDE, as well?
Also, are you installing this in your car or on your workbench before installing in your car?
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I figured it out. I am not allowed to install windows to a usb device. I thought otherwise, but I cant, so that's what was causing my problems.

Installing it on a workbench first. Technically a dinner table, but w/e
