With Windows XP, I use the "ups" option in the control panel to shutdown my computer.

that simple:
When i put the key in my car, i send a 5V on the pin N°8 of the com1.
windows xp see it. all is good.


When i remove the key off my car, the 5V disapears, windows xp don't see the 5V in the com1 port and then it shutdown.

Here is my problem:
I want to upgrade to windows Seven, but the "ups" option no longer exists
that's why I put my problem on the software topic

Is there a way to replace this useful tip? like a software who can see if there is a signal on the serial port and then make an action?
