You need the patch that was posted in the first post, or SP3 I believe.

If the patch doesn't apply, then I can't provide any guarantees that SP3 will allow my program to work.

    malcom great job
it works for me on xp sp3
not working on windows 7 ( not sure if its supposed to )

would love to see it progresses to full wifi managment

some toughts on features in the future :
1.i would love to see possibility for wifi-hopping ( automatic scan and connect to wifi networks
2.maybe a list of default passwords for password protected networks
    3.preffered networks ( home , work and such )

I don't have windows 7 to test, but I'm not shocked it didn't work. I'll look into it if there's enough interest. Not sure what you mean by default passwords? I've heard of default passwords for wireless routers, but not for whole networks? Or do you just mean "12345" "0000" etc? I think I may add an option to try passwords, but leave it up to the end user to fill it out. I don't want to encourage breaking into peoples networks

If there are any RR plugin devs who are interested in turning this into a plugin, I'd be more than willing to share the source (GPL of course, but I could be convinced to release the dll LGPL).

i have xp in the car for now so no interest for me ( but i know some have started to implement it in their car pc's )

the password thing will be ok thats exactly what i meant

i hope someone will pull the glove and work with you on that
i have some vb exp. from while back but not enough to start learning about writing plugins in a short time :\

i think it should even implement as a core feature of rr and not only as a plugin because of the wide usage of wifi networks today..

If you have wxp sp2 you must install the patch from m$.

Here's the brief description for the hotfix:
"Installing this set of application programming interfaces (APIs) will enable you to create applications that can manage wireless LAN profiles and connectivity on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) using the native wireless functionality in Windows, called Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service."
Look for API LAN wireless (KB918997) hotfix on the m$ website. Download the correct language (according to your os) file from there and install it.

    Hope this helps!

Just tried this, finds the wireless fine, and gives a nice list of networks.

Interestingly it listed the one I am connected to twice.
