I've pretty much just given up on boot times. I'm currently just using slow WinXP Hibernation, with an old 5400 RPM spinner.. I think boot time is about 30 some seconds... however.. I have rigged it to turn on with the unlock line of the power locks, meaning that by the time I'm turning the ignition on, it's already up and running.

Well you drive a SUV..... Buy Windows 7 and use hybrid sleep. Your big battery, big alternator, should be able to support hybrid sleep easily. When you get in, the PC will just instantly turn on, but if it does lower the battery, the PSU will automatically hibernate the PC in the SUV to save battery.

The PSU builds a nice little garage, makes it all cosy and the drives the SUV in, locks the garage door and puts up a do not disturb sign.

yeah, i have every intention of doing so at some point.. but right now, it's all just working. i probably won't mess with it too much for quite some time. No money to buy anything for it right now anyways.

Though if OpenMobile gets to the point where I feel i could replace SD2 with it.. that might spur some tinkering.. :-)

On another note, MeeGo 1.0 netbook was released a week or so ago. I will try it out this weekend and see if it runs on my ION board and measure how fast it is. It's supposed to rock ubuntu's world.
