Tracking the web access of a particular program

I'm trying to figure out what internet resources a program is connecting to and cannot find a decent solution. Anyone know of any software that can do this?

I dont know of a windows based program off the top of my head, but you can do lots of things. Easiest way is to run it in a virtual machine and capture everything into and out of the virtual machine adapter, so you know what it is requesting and not what you are. Or you can run it through a proxy/logger program which you seem to be asking about which basically redirects ALL trafic through another program then out to the web.

If a program is being sneaky though, I would suggest the virtual machine just incase.

The way I do it at work is to use a traffic monitoring tool. It is basically a packet sniffer and can tell you where each client on the network is connecting including the protocol and ports being used.

    Here's a free one I've used before:

You could run it on your CarPC or another computer on the network.
I have my primary network connection on the switch mirrored to the port the sniffer is running on so it can see all the internet traffic.
