Sorry selectively quoted was probably not the best choice of words. I was referring to the fact that my textbook definition (again not out of a textbook but pretty much the way its taught) was not included in the quote. You may feel its an opinion and I can respect that, but the majority of those in the AI field tend to use those characteristics to judge an AIs abilities.
I think dangerous was probably not exactly what he meant...more like controversial.
but back on topic.....I haven't dealt with X10 in a few years but how is it relevant in a car?

supposedly a few years back a person used Ultra Hal, and x10 in a night rider replica car to operate relays and other devices. The car drove itself by following a line, opened/closed the doors, windows, and a variety of other mechanical, and Electrical functions via voice. he however did not leave no how to info. I believe he also used active X as well.
I am only interested in turning on certain lights, and other electrical devices via voice.
Dough!!! I misunderstood sorry, The reason for not quoting your whole textbook definition is because It was the way most people would describe AI. That is why I made sure I wrote ThisSorry selectively quoted was probably not the best choice of words. I was referring to the fact that my textbook definition (again not out of a textbook but pretty much the way its taught) was not included in the quote. You may feel its an opinion and I can respect that, but the majority of those in the AI field tend to use those characteristics to judge an AIs abilities. Is Ultra Hal 100% of what people would call 100% artificial intelligence, No, But it is the closest Available program out there.
That's easy as pie, however unless I'm missing something, how is AI involved in that?? Take your typical CarPC, use your favorite voice recognition program/sdk/API (hell, even the built in Windows 7 voice recognition is fairly decent), hook up a Fusion Brain to your PC, and you have voice control over over the digital outputs of the FB. These outputs can then be used to drive relays or what not.
Thats alright I didn't make it very clear....
As far as X10 though....Using X10 in a vehicle is like taking a plane to get to your neighbors house. Kapone summed up the best way to do this...using an I/O board like the fusion brain. X10 is a powerline technology which would require you to setup a whole A/C grid in your car to then translate the signals back to DC again and finally to the relays. Cut out the giant unnecessary middle step.

kapone To answer your question, The Ultra Hal Program is the AI System, If I give Ultra Hal a command via voice like "Computer Roll down window" it would be in a way integrating Ultra Hal to the vehicle. Thanks a lot for suggesting the Fusion Brain it is a way better route, I like it a lot better than the x10 route.
Thanks to justchat_1 I now know the X10 route is a poor choice. how ever it was the only way I knew of. I seen Fusion Brain mentioned in a few posts, I never looked into it though. I always thought it was just a program, and did not put it on a list to investigate.
I went to fusioncontrolcentre.com and they a have a few models available.
I nothing of this technology, I would not know what model to get to fit my needs. How Could my speech input and out put from Ulta Hal communicate with the fusion Brain. Any help, infomation or a point to subjects about these areas would be greatly appreciated.

Ultra Hal allows vb script plug-ins. I have not worked with vb much yet, but I am willing to learn if it will help. It would be nice to create if possible a vb plug-in that, via input command into Ultra Hal have Ultra Hal send a command or what ever script needed to the fusion brain to control voltage on or off states for a devise. What type of input is needed for the fusion brain to Do this? I tried to search but did not find anything.
My friend, if voice integration with custom digital control of external peripherals was THAT easy, every kid on the block would be doing it.You're talking about a fairly complex, but more importantly VERY specific application, that no one has done yet (as far as I know, Ultra Hal is an unknown entity) so, very lil input if at all. Hell, integrating Fusion Brain with any regular application itself is not that easy to begin with.
Someone's gonna have to hunker down and figure out the integration. Guess who that's gonna be?![]()
