    Introducing a new front end

    Hi all,

you may pay attention on a new car pc front end cPOSdotNet.
As the name may assume it is not an update for cPOS it is totally new developed in C#.NET.
Therefore it is running under Windows XP, Vista or Win7.

cPOSdotNet is open source and free of charge.

Basically it is designed as an MVC (model view controller) application.
View: Today there is one view available which is made with Microsoft's Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
Controller: This is the main core program. It provides basic functions like an On Screen Keyboard, a volume management or a MP3 indexer.
Model: The functionallity comes with several plugins that can be activated or deactivated. Today there are plugins available for:
    • Brightness control
    • Volume control
    • DVD Player
    • Movie Player
    • Audio Player
    • Image Player
    • DVB-T Player
    • GPS
    • PC Diagnostic
    • Internet Radio
    • Google Services
    • Cellphone (only AT commands)
    • Cellphone (AT commands, OBEX synchronisation, remote control)
    • FM Radio
    • Web Cam
    • Navigation via Auto Mapa

If you like to test the current version 0.63 feel free to download the attachment and post your experience here.
The documents are just in german, but the software should be in english too.

    Greetings

I download and tried the app, however once installed I can go to the setup screen and edit settings, but the dock application does not run, and the frontend itself seems to not launch. What am I doing wrong here?

Also, you said it was open source, under what license is it released, and where is the source?

    @malcom2073:
If the .NET Framwork 3.5 SP 1 or higher is installed you may have a look into the log files.
Each program writes two log files. One only for errors the second with a logging trace.
On Vista and Win7 the files can be found in: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\cPOSdotNet\log
On Windows XP the files can be found in: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\cPOSdotNet\log

I'll asked the adim of the subversion server if anyone can download the source code from there without having an account.
