me too, please put me on the list.
I would love to compare this with other front ends out there. I am really looking forward to the playlist feature.

I would love to beta test if your not full already.
I was wondering if the fonts are planned to be customizable in the release version?
I also have a suggestion. Probably makes you cringe hearing that but I am one picky bastard I guess. I just LOVE the idea of invisible buttons. On a touchscreen it's a heaven sent. Anyways, I just wanted to suggest a layout like this one. I just hate the "Stop" button on players. It is so pointless, just pause or exit the app. The stop makes sense to me on VHS and cassette but on CD/DVD, files etc. there are so many other buttons that are more important. /rant. The skip back/forward increment buttons are a result of my addiction to ZoomPlayer.
Hope I'm not breaking any copyright by using your image.
Keep up the great work it's looking awesome.

Moose - didn't hurt any copywrites - the image doesn't seem to come through!
But yes the fonts are fully customizable in both the beta & obviously the release! you can modify :
- FontName (Arial, Times New Roman, etc, etc -> limited to what you install on your machine!)
- Bold
- Italic
- Size
- Alignment (within the "container"button)
- Shadow Color
- Shadow offset (x & y from the original)
Font smoothing will probably be hardcoded since it looks better and most computers above a 486 won't show any performance hit ....
Transparent and Invisible buttons are supported as well as the placement of those buttons on the screen ... Transparent buttons appear "shaped" - ie a circle; the original graphic is actually still a rectangle, but only the solid portion of the button shows through (and responds to touch!). Invisible buttons, simply don't appear ... All my dynamic text on the screen shots sits on invisible buttons ....
BTW - thanks for volunteering - I'll send out instructions tomorrow or the next day!

Moose - I must have looked just as you were posting - I see the image now - yes you can set your screen up that way! Though I'd probably throw a mute button in for phone calls (not that I condone that sort of thing!), or fast-food drive-through-windows!

Just a thought - since all buttons have 2 states (touched / non-touched), you could probably have the touched state flash up "Play/Pause" when you touch it ... By default, buttons "un-touch" themselves after 300 ms (1/3 sec), assuming they are not part of a button group (like radio buttons on the internet).

what language are you coding this in?

The app is 100% C++ ! Unfortunately I've been required to use MFC to interface with the DVD system and to provide additional media support, but I should have that cleared up shortly after the official release, if not sooner (no MFC = more portability. Everything but the MFC code runs on smoothly (though slightly slower) on Windows CE ... also possibility of a Linux distro ...)
