I have a fairly large music collection I have acquired over the years. The problem is that it is a mess! At one point years ago I converted everything over to mp3 and I guess I never deleted the original files. Im now trying to organize things a bit and realize that I have duplicate songs, different bitrates, missing album art, missing songs, corrupt songs, incorrect ID tags, etc. Is there some kind of software that can assist me in this task?

Honestly, it may not be the best, but I've not found anything better (for free) than iTunes. It has an option where you can only display duplicates which will make it easier to go through and delete your originals or lower bitrate versions of the songs you may have mp3 duplicates of. Also it will download most album art for you. This is what I am doing so far, but it is still very time consuming as my library is around 150GB now.

Mine is about the same size. I have a feeling Im going to have to use a number of different programs to do this. MediaMonkey is a program I was told about to edit the ID tags. I have yet to try it, however. The biggest problem is the corrupt files. My music used to be kept on a highly overclocked (and unstable) system and I think thats where a lot of my problems came from. I just dont know how to go through and find the corrupt files without listening to each and every song.

I use MediaLibraryOrganizer plugin for Winamp. A lot have complained about it but it works flawlessly for me. Just have to set your patterns correctly and go. Was able to Organize 212GB under 30 min and saved 20GB after completed.
