Wanted: Programmer who wants to play with DAB+ option

In that case I will have to spend a little more time with Blaze.

I have presto working well now albeit with the problem of it opening 3 windows but I have encountered another problem, the dongle does not initialise after a hard off you have to unplug it and then plug it in again before it will show up under device manager I am assuming this is because it was originally designed with laptops in mind so not so good for carputer use where it will be permanantly plugged in, going to the back of the car to re plug the dongle every time you want to use the radio is not an option.

I was wondering if this is an issue in the driver files or perhaps just my system

I could live with presto I think maybe just running it at a lower resoulution to get it larger on screen and I have now discovered it has the ability to store favorites so solves the problem of presets.

It would be great if the problems could be worked out as this chipset is cheap and has the option of DVB-T although I probably would not go there I am sure that it would be attractive to some.

I read that the Ezcap worked with Leadtek Winfast PVR software, I have tried it along with a few others but they do not seem to be able to recognise the device so I am beginning to think the only software that will work is the ones packaged with the dongle and those provided by realtek.

I really hope you hear from Realtek their help could make all the difference.

It,s ok I have it working in Presto now, albeit on an external loft aerial, quality seems pretty good and the same goes for FM, not sure what this will be like on the car aerial but I have got a signal booster in line on that so it maybe ok, I am not doing any testing in car until I can get a stable build.

I think I may have solved the problem I mentioned before with the dongle driver not being loaded after a hard off, in the setup files there is a setup config file which had a StartType line setting of 3 (SERVICE_DEMAND_START) I changed this to 1 (SERVICE_SYSTEM_START) took out the existing drivers and reloaded in setup with the new StartType line, no problems since then but time will tell.

Still have not looked at Blaze again but intend to.

He is the one with the SDK and the example programs that come with it.

Personally........no, I am not sure if I would know what to do with it even if I had it.

I wanted to stop Presto from loading 3 windows, or at least the viewer one but my amateur attempts have not resolved this, also looked at the skins folder and found a few png image files that are used in the main panel graphics and experimented with just increasing there size by 200%, I only did this on the main panel and a button set which gave a more practical size skin but the button set was misaligned, I should have known it would not be that easy.

It would be ideal if someone came up with an app that could communicate with the 2830 with just a tuner front end but I am aware that this task is time consuming and everyone has demands on their free time.

I know this is kinda off topic but I have just learned that Bluestacks is releasing a beta version soon and I am hoping this will have a comms path out to the underlying win o/s which would open a whole world of new apps.

The probable initial delay to your email was because Realtek is a Taiwanese company and they shutdown for the Chinese spring festival, usually about 10 days, so with any luck responses should be faster now.

I have just been dealing with a Taiwanese company regarding a GPS module and was pleasantly surprised that A, they were prepared to sell me one unit and B, they were so nice about it.

Ah, I've now been sent some documentation from Realtek. It doesn't look quite the same as what was sent to the others as they seemed to get the source code for the FM/DAB player applications ... whereas I just have a few pdfs about the API. Still, it's enough to get it all working so I'm happy.
