It wouldnt hurt to ask, infact its even better if they can supply C# or VB.net version of the SDK with all the bugs ironed out.

There are a few things that doesnt work such as the PTY and no DLS. I tried D.Radio.exe (found on another site) and that doesnt support any of that either, it is very basic. I think the SDK supplied by realtek is incomplete and its up to you to expand it. Its very unstable on my pc as well.

Would be cool if you can get a dll working. I would love to create one but like you I would have to learn c++ first LOL, due to limited time, I doubt Ill get very far.

Don't really know how to make a plug in yet for Centrafuse but intially I'm looking to create a program and embed/overlay it instead. I've got an idea to replace the song name portion of Centrafuse with a DAB radio LCD style display. Will then need to map forward, reverse, scann etc buttons in Centrafuse to change channel. For example, the radio function of Centrafuse already has a display section and tune and channel buttons - these just need mapping (perhaps using autohotkey or perhaps via the amended SDK source program.

Was going to try the same with Blaze HDTV but program (or it might be the RTL2832U driver) is a bit buggy and doesn't play properly when resume from hibernation - I need to change the DTV source and sometimes the channel to get it to play. Amending the SDK source I can perhaps work around these bugs.

I know this is not the best way to go but it is something which I think I can get my head around. Initially I just want something functional and reliable. The aesthetics will come later.

What do you think?

Once you created your own apps based on the SDK it shouldnt be too difficult to create a plugin from there. Let us know how you get on.

I have the same realtek(2832) usb tuner and would love to see it work with Centrafuse. Frustrates me how they(CENTRAFUSE)only support basicaly one dab+ tuner.This particular usb tuner works brilliantly especially DAB in Australia.

I have PM'ed CdRsKuLL the SDK in order to have a look.

I have also gone back to Realtek to ask about DLS and PTY support, and also to see if they have any more code samples available (Specifically C# or VB.net as per ifb's request).

I'll update again if I get a response back, hopefully we might get lucky!

pcmoto, its good to get more feedback on how well this chipset works with DAB+, I'm really glad you have gotten a good result on it!

Very keen for this.... been after a solution for a few weeks now how long till you guys think you have a plugin out!!

I've got the sdk and installed with the bundled drivers. Started up the software and can confirm it scans and plays the station. No info comes up but at least there's sound :-) I will try and have a look at the source over the next day or so when I get chance. As for the v5 and FreeICE. I've got the DAB part fully working with all the presets etc. Auto tunes. I've just got to add acouple of indicators and then I will pm you over a link to test if that's ok? Not looked at the FM part as yet and Alpha8 will most likely not come with that option, will see how it goes.

Update, just heard back from the Realtek rep, and its a mixed bag

1. We don't provide DLS and PTY function. However, you can get DLS by parsing MSC Stream audio PAD and get PTy from FIC.
2. Yes, VC++ 6.0 is the only code package we have.

ibf, I hope that makes a bit more sense to you than me!! So it looks like we can get the text and other information by going the extra step and stripping it out of the other returned fields.
