Yeah I should be able to test for you, when I am home, as should many others.

I was going through the radiator plugin as Daoekl suggested it, I haven't had much app programming experience (more php and python) and I thought it sounded simpler to just write a dll that converted radiator commands into realtek commands so that I didn't need to write a UI or any other smarts, just direct conversion.

I am sure a direct module would be far more efficient and probably have many more features and work neater.

    Good luck

    tester

For Radiator there are already many Plugins for CAR-PC-Softwares like Centrafuse or Roadrunner.

If you got a plugin for Centrafuse, i would LOVE to test it.

Please send me a pm, I check my mails nearly every day, cause I am very excited of listening to fmRadio again, inside my car

Greetings ! See you all next year

I'm happy to test it - I am using RideRunner, not Centrafuse - although I can get a trial version to test the Centrafuse module.

I will upload 2 different versions of the DLL later tonight. If people can test it and also upload the text log that it produces then that would be great. It is quite limited in functionality at the moment but I do not actually have a unit to test with so am almost coding blind.

I opted to go with the Radiator DLL plugin rather than a Centrafuse dedicated radio module. This is because I noted that Radiator plugs in to other front ends so a DLL would work universally across all supported front ends and would be easier to maintain than if several different versions for different front ends were created.

Plugin 1 of 2 to test - RTL2832 DAB+ Radiator plugin (should work for both USB and PCI versions). I am holding back on the 2nd version of this test plugin while I work out some bugs in the tuning method.

Follow instructions in the readme file. The installation password is in there!

PLEASE PLEASE uninstall any existing drivers you may have and install the ones in the attached ZIP. This will ensure that we are all testing from the same set of drivers and will make it easier if problems occur and/or bugs need to be fixed.

Regardless of whether this works or not for you, PLEASE post your log file in this thread for me to analyze, and include as much information as you can about your setup and what you tried or didnt try.

    Thnx.

(I'd be particularly interested to hear whether this plugin causes the speakers to make that THUD noise when Radiator starts, as that is what I was trying to avoid. Because I don't own the actual hardware it is very difficult for me to test this sort of thing, so I'm relying on you lot!)

Hey there, first of all: Big Thanks for your work.

I tried it on Windows 7, first I uninstalled the driver, than installed yours.
    It does not work
I am using blaze HDTV and this works with YOUR driver.

As I started Radiator und choose your pluginfile, Windows wanted this two ddl-files:

    ->MSVCP60D.dll
    ->msvcrtd.dll

After putting them in the rootfolder ([...]programms/Radiator)
I was able to start Radiator (as Admin) without any Probs.
    But there doesn't happen anything.

What about the logfile, where do I get it for you ??

I'm having problems with Radiator at the moment under Windows 7 x64. I'll test under Windows XP Mode and see if this helps.

I'll also test on a Win 7 32-bit build as well, as quite a few people have moved to it on their CarPCs.

Seems that the Radiator software needs to be updated!

Another small issue - you will need to install Visual C++ Redistributable libraries to use this DLL.

my two cents... dont bother with radiator.... its old and no longer supported... doesnt run in x64 os
(i did hack it to work while back)

but is just too limited for what you need here...

it doesnt do much anyway... it turns on tuner, and tunes to a freq...
thats not enough for todays digital radio...

    -Thanks

Ah yes, this is done is VC++ so you will need the redistributable runtimes to make Radiator load with this DLL.

I have attached a newer version of the DLL. Please try with this version instead (just directly overwrite the old version in the Plugins folder in ProgramFiles\Radiator).

The log file is at C:\REALTEK_TEST.log. You might need to ZIP it or change extension to TXT for the forum to accept the upload.

The log will only be produced if you have admin rights.
