Thread: Windows 8 Front End?

apps are suspended after a 5 second timeout. They are killed as the system needs more memory. If the weather app was bogging down your system then there was probably a bug in the suspension code. I've noticed a few times that different apps either don't suspend or resume properly.

Here is some info for that I don't think has been posted but may be of interest to anyone running W8.
For the record I am using it with RR and am competely in love with it, the boot times are amazing, all of my hardware is working except an issue with my Griffin PM (which has software issues at the best of times). My SQ issues with my X-fi are gone, likely W7 woudl have fixed it anyways as I was using XP but regardless, I'm not spending money on W7 with W8 around the corner.
So I am already wondering what to do on March 8 when it expires. The answer might be here, (Beta hopefully will be released):

Any applications you receive through the Windows Store will also cease to be available to you in future versions, unless they are made available for re-download and you re-acquire them. You may not receive any other notice,” the software giant reveals.

Has anybody the plugin for usb fm radio (silabs or digitalcar radio) in Windows 8 Metro interface?

OK so with a Win8 upgrade from XP out on the shelves I'm thinking of trying it but as Microsoft says ...old XP software apps will not be preserved when installing Win8...
It is easy to re-install RR but how has everyone running RR found the rest of it like navigation and media such as music and movies ?
Will I still need Winamp for sound and will my USB GPS still work for the navigation ?

Has anyone built a plugin for windows8 to handle and interface the bluetooth control of an attach cell phone? like answer and dial calls? Ive searched everywhere and couldnt find anything to hand this in the Metro interface?

There is no bluetooth api in the "Metro" API that allows bluetooth communication... Talked to a MS employee last week, told me it´s hopefully gonna be implemented in upcoming updates.
