Bootvis Guide
This is the best thing you can do to decrease boot time. It rearranges the files that are used during boot time so that the OS boots faster. The link i provided gives you downloads and a guide on how to use bootvis. I haven't tried it on 2000 yet but i did try it on XP and it cut my boottime in half

I assume that this doesn't do anything if I'm using hibernate? Still thanks for the link.
I've used THIS tweak on all my computers.
If you run a single HD on IDE 1 and one optical drive on IDE 2, it works great. It took 10 Sec., literaly, off my boot times on my carputer.
cool i'm now using both techniques to have it boot even faster thnx

I finally got round to speeding mine up, from about 1.5-2 minutes, to 30 seconds using Hibernate in Win2k instead of standard shutdown and boot.
Fantastic.

I have my system booting up from scratch in 30 seconds and from hibernation in 14 seconds. Haven't turned off any services, just made sure that I wasn't booting up any 3rd party stuff I didn't need.

I can't get this util to work in Win2K. And if I am reading correctly Skraggy has it working, how did you do it?

No mate, sorry. Just using Hibernate, none of the the other Utils.
Going to look at tweaking the services next though.
