Windows 8 Consumer Preview was installed on top of my main machine:Left there is a 24" 1920x1200 and on the right a 19" 1024x1280 in portrait mode. Since it was installed on top of a current machine (after a full backup, of course), I have resumed working as normal. Lightroom import pictures, AHCD vídeo editing, I have even flash an android tablete using odin. No issues. I have an ocasional freeze issues, never crash, I atribute that to the poor website coding prevalente everywhere on the internet. IE 10 suffers more than most, I feel, but even Chrome freezes with heavy contente sites/opened windows. 3D Games Works well or better than under Win7, people have been reporting 10fps or more due to the slimmer kernel, so it's all good. My Steam account Works as usual, remote desktop and Windows home server backup, no issues. I had to spend 15 min setting up Brother Laser Printer, but a wireless-N, newer Printer went without issues. At this point I'm just afraid of my Creative Labs Soundcard X-Fi Platinum will crap on me, and I wouldn't be surprised if uninstalling it I won't see an overall better experience. Will see what happens.

BTW the point of the Picture is more to report'/illustrate the point that the Metro style interface won't interfere in anyway with your current working programme. Everytime I launch a non-Metro app, the Metro interface on the left screen disappears and I can work as I Always did. All my pinned apps remained at the bottom (Lightroom, Notes, Browsers, skype, etc.). I can add/pin apps to the metro interface anytime. If you're a power use and dominates the keyboard, this is for you. Everything just works. If you like to click, though, just populate your desktop with your icons, and you're set. The Metro interface is great for me as a big widget to check weather, facebook, twitter and I love the remote desktop app, which I use to control my torrentes in another machine and update my HTPCs. I'm getting used to it more and more. And it looks very cool too. :-)

recently installed windows 8 CP in my carpc on bench and found out that most default metro apps doesnt run at 800x480.
i was hoping i could use default media players on the carPC since they were designed for touch.
