As the topic says.. what Operating system should i go for..

What i want is "fast" boottimes and divx xvid playable.
    Linux is not an alternative.

I'm gonna be using XP Pro on mine when it gets delivered (order status from LinITX has gone to 4: Packed)

98 may boot faster with Lite, but i want the added stability and driver support of XP I can sacrifice a few seconds boot time if it doesn't crash on me lol

Ive just installed Xp on my Epia 800 as well. WIn 2000 ran crappy, with maybe a 50 second boot time. Windows xp seems to do maybe just around 20 seconds.
    Mine needs to be updated.

How the hell did you get a 20 sec boot time?

On my M-9000 from power button to when ME loads it's 45 Sec...and that's with all the tweaking I could find.

I dont know? its just a clean install with nothing else running. What kinda tweaking are you talking about? Maybe its closer to 25 seconds

I would go with Debian or Slackware or [B]LFS (If you don't know what it is, don't ask!). If you aren't up for the challange, Windows XP Pro, Or Windows 98/XP Lite.
