    Question MP3 CD creation

I have an Alpine CDA-7894 head unit that plays MP3s. The library of MP3s I have are of entire CDs ripped and filenamed; Artist - Album - Track - Song Title, so that on my PC they display in the correct alphanumeric order. When playing a burned MP3 CD in my Alpine, it won't play them in true alphanumeric order (The head unit plays the files in the order they are burned, not by their filename). I've tried Nero and Roxio, neither will burn all the files in correct alphanumeric order. Anybody have any burning tips/suggestions to get my discs in true order?

    Thanks,
    Daniel Ostrander

I'm wondering the same thing... My portable MP3 player behaves similarly. When I burn a CD with just "Artist - Name" format with different artists, it plays it in alphanumeric order. What I'm wondering is if the "standard" playback software will only read so far into the title to order it, then it goes quasi-random. (I say quasi, because it's a repeating patern. I can burn two different discs and they will play back in the same random order...) Even putting "A" , "B", in front of the track doesn't help IIRC...

I just rename them accordingly, using the combinations of folders and number ie 01systemofadown 02 etc

I don't think you have any position to be calling anybody else "****y", you started the rudeness. When it errored the first time I lost the contents of the reply window so I had to recompose it, pardon me if it took me a few minutes. Now, why don't you quit being a jackass and leave it at that!

I do have the folder names and filenames in alphanumeric sequence (i.e. filename: Pink Floyd - The Wall - 9 - Young Lust), it's just that when the burning software grabs the files to burn, it doesn't neccesaraly grab them in the order you want.
