    Yeah, that preview release was kind of thrown together... Will have a much better one out pretty soon. Out of curiosity, what did not work on the MercuryX preview?

    You can compact the database in about 6 lines of code, I'll post it up here later.

    ... or compact it from Access

    Tools --> Database Utilities -> Compact and Repair database.

    The problem is that when you delete rows/tables, the space is not reclaimed by Access until you do Compact and Repair either by menu or programatically.

    Code:
    Sub Main()

    Dim oldsize As String
    Dim newsize As String

    oldsize = FileLen(App.Path & "\YourDatabaseName.mdb")

    Dim JRO As JRO.JetEngine
    Set JRO = New JRO.JetEngine

    JRO.CompactDatabase "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" _
    & "Data Source=" & App.Path & "\YourDatabaseName.mdb", _
    "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" _
    & "Data Source=" & App.Path & "\temp.mdb" _
    & ";Jet OLEDB:Engine Type=5"

    Kill App.Path & "\YourDatabaseName.mdb"

    Name App.Path & "\temp.mdb" As App.Path & "\YourDatabaseName.mdb"

    newsize = FileLen(App.Path & "\YourDatabaseName.mdb")

    MsgBox "Old file size = " & (oldsize / 1024) & " KB" & vbCrLf & "New file size = " & (newsize / 1024) & " KB" & vbCrLf _
        & "Difference = " & ((oldsize - newsize) / 1024) & " KB", vbInformation + vbOKOnly, "Done"

    End Sub

    There you go.
