Yeah but if you're being truly legal about it, aren't you only entitled to use your student discounted version of Windows whilst your a student?

Whether you choose to pay or not, admitting that you don't on a public forum is stooooopid.

"Officially... to be legal, YES you need to buy a new operating system...
That meaning again, to be legal. So to say.."

Just because you don't pay for microsoft software, doesn't mean its illegal.

As a computer science student at Georgia Tech, we have msdn accounts with free access to VS.NET, ME, 2k Pro, XP, 2k3 Server, and a whole bunch of programming software. They are all free download with legit keys/serials and receipts.

Also, when XP was release and when VS .Net was released, there were trade shows and demos in Atlanta and on campus where free cd copies of XP, .Net, Visio, etc were handed out at the door or given away during raffles.

Bah, paying for Micro****.. I would never support them. I have supported Linux before by donating to projects (Debian!) and for Linux software projects, but I wouldn't do the same for M$. Free your mind and computer; Use Linux!!

Only reason I don't use Linux at the moment is because of the lack of GPS softare. However I am currently building myself a light linux install, hopefully for uber-quick boot, then maybe just keep winblows for if I'm lost Or even use VMWare!

and how is it stupid? what I call stupid is getting a computer w/ preinstalled OS (especially by M$). Well, yeah, I got one like that. I admit it, it was stupid.

Also, whe ever said I got any of M$ products, (besides the preinstalled crap)? No one.

And once again, I will say that I WOULD NOT PAY FOR M$ PRODUCTS, like it or not.
