    Question Sound processing software

    Hey people,
    I am completing an install that will not have a head unit or eq. This car will be competing IASCA (SQ) so I will need a means of sound processing. Does anyone know of any kind of sound processing software? Also, if such software exists, does anyone know of a three output sound card that would support it? I know that winamp has an eq built into it, but I am in need of some real heavy duty stuff. Part of the install theme is to only have amps and speakers controlling the sound output. Everything else will be controlled by the computer. If anyone has any suggestions, please post.

    I am not competing (yet?), but I do want good SQ from my carputer system. I should have it installed within the next 2 weeks, so I'll have more info then...

    I chose to use the m-audio sound card (7.1 isa card). It has really good specs and good reviews from users. It comes with some basic sound processing sw, but I may also be looking for more if I am not happy with the sound.

    Another important factor is how you store your music. Mp3 can be good or bad, depending on how it's converted. I may use un-compressed wav files, which will sound great, but take up a TON of hard drive space.

    Try this. They have support for both WMP9 & Winamp. Relatively cheap, too. You should keep in mind that a quality sound card will certainly improve your chances. Unfortunately, you have to tackle the proprietary software written plus any other plugins. Hope that helps. (I haven't used this software, but it looks impressive).
