    Yeah, I searched around that site you gave me,and eventually ended up at wincustomize.com where I found a little program that does what I needed. I now have a nice custom welcome screen Thanks

    the welcome screen takes the graphics from logon screen and just puts the welcome text over it.... thats why i was getting so confused...

    What's the point in having the Welcome screen? I have my PC set up so that it logs in automatically without showing the Welcome screen. There's only one graphic to change during boot up... which is the Windows XP loading screen.

    ?? even on autologin you still get the welcome screen

    You don't have too

    turn off the welcome screen and set up autologin

    In XP Pro you can turn off Welcom screen in Control Panel>User Accounts>Change The way users logon/off
