Happy testing! Look for a more polished version soon.
Gork - just got the software and runtimes installed. The radio powers on, starts scanning, plays (actually starts playing much faster than the original software), but for some reason NEVER stops scanning... it just keeps going and going...

Installed in a separate folder on the E drive by itself, nothing special. Running XP Pro and tons of memory.

Let me know how I can help in debugging.

Couple of suggestions... configurable fonts and column widths... tabs for arranging favorites lists (I love that in the original software), and a small 'always on top display' mode.

The Alpha rocks you are the man. I would be happy to donate to a PayPal on this project...

    One last suggestion... skinnable....

    Edit:
    Two more issues.
    1) Programming the buttons doesn't seem to work for me. I press it and hold (while a station is playing) and no matter how long, it doesn't program the station/channel to the button.
    2) Screen resolution is a little messy. I have a 7" wide screen touch screen, and it doesn't size correctly... I can't see the far right side of the screen. I am guessing that there is a veritcal scrool there... Might be solved by having the maximize button enabled.

Still I see great potential! Keep up the great work.

    QuickCarl:

Thanks for testing it! It is right that it never stops scanning. That is the correct behavior. Once it gets to the end it starts over. This ensures it always keeps everything up to date.

I don't know why your preset buttons aren't setting, but that's probably just a UI problem of some sort. As I said, the UI is just temporary. It will be completely redone with flash for all kinds of fun functionality. This will fix your button problems and give you all the things you asked for probably including skinning ability (you'll just have to make a new .swf file for the interface -- probably won't be to hard to modify the default .fla file to suit)

I have uncovered a couple minor bugs with the communication engine I wrote. I'll get those fixed, start working on the UI, and hopefully I'll have something really neat to show for it in a few weeks.

Gork - very good. Thanks for the reply. I am assuming that in the final you will eventually hide the string where you display the scanning (rather disconcerting and distracting behavior.)

If you have intermmediate builds that you would like tested, I'd be happy to. You can email me at carlchapman[removethispart]@msn.com.

    Have a great weekend!
