chut: yeah I was going to suggest that you have the libs installed correctly if it is even running at all.. I just saw this today, so I'm glad you figured it out.

I am a Flash Programmer, not the best designer in the world, but I know how to program in it. In fact I have been teaching Flash at a local post-secondary school where I live for the past 4 years.
I would be willing to give you a hand getting the Flash front end done. But like I said, I am not the best designer in the world. I have used Flash to talk with other languages as well, but I don't know too much about VB...although I have REALLY been wanting to learn and in fact had already bought 2 books to learn it, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Do you plan to write perl or python wrapper for your module ? It would be nice if I can use it in pycar. I have Fm usb module written, so looking for something simple to get XM as well. Let me know if you're interested.
jbors: If I knew python, I would jump into pycar head first :) Unfortunately, I am a perl guy, so the language feels very alien to me. I am working on an SDL backended perl app similar to what you are doing. It will have an XM component. When it gets done, I think it'd be very easy to rewrite the xm component in python for someone who knows both languages.
To be honest, this app is a bunch of really bad VB code. The logic isn't even really self contained -- it even uses the listbox widget as storage. I don't think it'd even be possible to wrap this into a library without a total rewrite anyway.
I understand. Personally I do library first and then wrap functionality above it.
It ends up with much cleaner interface and better usability.
I think that SDL is a good choice. Sure that perl should have good wrappers for it.
Are you planning to have it working on Linux ?
