Nice one I can see Desinator and the Netstumbler fighting over comm ports . would this be an issue? and if not could D2 and NS work @ the same time?

Though I do know you can get software that is a soft-splitter for serial port. Basically you can have one serial device, and split it to 2 "soft" serial ports. You should be able to run both Destinator and Netstumbler at the same time through it.Originally Posted by slarty
I'd though about this a while ago, when thinking about running destinator and a GPS logger at the same time.
Worth a play methinx.

Ok I didn't read all 8 previous pages of this thread, but I have tried this program and the playlist handling is the best and fastest I've seen (I've only tride media engine and media car before this). I like the fact that it doesn't have to spend a minute or two loading the playlist everytime you go into the music player.
To make it perfect I would like to see DVD and movie file playback added though, or maybe even a way to launch external apps and make buttons for them in the skin. Any idea when/if this would be added?
Also, is there a way to turn off id3 tag reading and just list the songs by filename (my filenames are all correct but my I never update my tags)?
Thanks!Originally Posted by Bobby Digital
It will already play movie files (avi, mpg etc), just add them to your media directory.Originally Posted by Bobby Digital
As for DVD and CD audio support, I will add that at some point, but it's a feature I'll never use so it's behind other things like...
...adding embedded applications as you ask - that's the next feature I'm working on.
Shouldn't be too difficult. I'll look at adding an option.Originally Posted by Bobby Digital

Dude, check out MP3 Observer Home. It will let you catalog ALL of your mp3s, and if you don't worry about tags too much, then why not just let that program build all of them FOR you based on the filenames? It's an awesome prog, and builds an Access database to track everything, which makes it that much more valuable for getting everything in order.
It's free, and it's powerful as all hell. There is also a pay Pro version that has a few more features, but I don't know what they are right off the bat. Just do asearch for MP3Observer, and check out the site.

Hey, brilliant software, am installing it tonight.
I have a request that would to help apply an idea i had a while ago for night mode.
Using the free eclipse software (http://www.taylormacintosh.com/ in programes) which toggles the brightness down to 40% or somthing is it possible to write something that would allow this to be activated by a key shortcut? This would mean that rather than simply having different skins for night mode this would do everything, ie external apps too.
My plan is to make a key input using a hacked ps/2 keyboard linked to a timer circiut and relay connected to head lights. The idea being the screen auto toggles between brightness's when lights are turned on and off. Just like in my girlfriends audi A4 system that was my kick in the *** to make me start all this in the first place!!!!
What do you think? Any ideas. It may be a very simple thing to assign a key shortcut to this programme or write a new one but i have no programming skills at all! so if anyone can do it for me or has done already that would be cool.
Sure about that?Originally Posted by NotchbackVW
