Some rip, reifo, and play perfectly.. Some rip, reIFO and play win WinDVD every chapter in about 3 seconds with no output. What am I doing wrong?

I hope this post is kosher with the ops..

For one I would use SmartRipper instead of DVDDecryptor. I know alot of people who have had problems with it. Second I would also use DVD2One instead of IFOedit. Now this is what I use and I have never had one problem and I have copied over a hundred DVDs. If you got more questions I'm sure I can help.

Thanks for your help guys, however I've been to these sites and have not found a solution to the issue I'm experiencing. I am attempting to rip only the movie and nothing else. On DVDHelp they run you on creating a complete rip. I don't want to have the full thing on HD. I just want the movie file and associated IFO so I have a one touch movie play.
So I rip just the movie files, and create new IFO with IfoEdit and the dumb things just don't play correctly. Anymore thoughts?
I will try SmartRipper and DVD2One an see how that works.

Wow.. More great web links! I'll go check them out now. Wow.. Look at all the information I've already read that doesn't help me at all.

Well.. I've attempted to use SmartRipper and DVD2One. Same deal except the new IFO files created by DVD2One won't even play. Very unfortuneate.
Sooo.. Where am I going wrong here? I've ripped, reprocessed a 1/2 dozen times. Some DVDs are perfect the first time. The rest get the whole movie in 3 seconds with no output. Whats the deal here??

    SmartRipper tutorial:

[cant be simpler than that ;p ]

I used to rip DVDs and compressed them by divx codec; there is one issue about copying files from dvd - there are multiple .vob files (each for different scene). If you want to have "one touch movie play" im guessing you have to either copy all vob files or even better compress them and save some hdd space. Try looking for GordianKnot or similar (its a kit for ripping dvds).

Hey Guys... Lemme essplain a bit further..
I can rip perfectly. I can then create an IFO file, however some movies won't play. Some will.. about 50% won't. They just essentially "scan" through the whole movie while attempting to play back in WinDVD. Ripping isn't the problem.. Creating the ISO files arn't a problem. I don't know what the problem is exactly however Ihave about a 50% success rate after ripping and then creating the new IFO file for the flick. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has encountered this issue. Can you let me in on the trick here?

    Thanks
    Wade
