I just coded a webcam function for my frontend. that ocx cost more than the 2 webcam i brought (18 bux each, heck cost more than double my frontend)
I discovered a little ActiveX control that makes it ridiculously easy to add video from a webcam to your VB apps. It's already running in my frontend, and once I find a better webcam than the one I have, I will be testing it as a rearview device in the car.
The control is called VideoOCX. It's a little expensive to purchase outright, but amazingly enough, the the control is fully functional, and the nags don't show up at all in the compiled version of the program. If I find that it's useful enough for me in the car, I will definitely post up for the license, but at present, I think it's definitely worth trying for all you guys out there working on embedded video apps in your frontends!
One of many places to get the control!

Ah, but the beautiful thing is that despite the nags it gives you while coding, once compiled, the nags disappear entirely!Originally Posted by Alphared
