How to integrate MapPoint?!?!

Ok, so I know that MapPoint can be integrated into a VB program. I have a basic portion of my frontend "linked" to it. That is to say that I have the MapPoint tool referenced in VB, but I haven't the slightest notion of how to actually USE it!

Anybody been to a site that gives someone with n00b status in this field a good running start? I've been all around a couple sites that appear to be all about answering general questions from people already in the integration development process, but they are such a mishmash of either incredibly stupid or insanely complex questions that I can't find any sort of primer on the subject.
