How is the hardware?
I intended to use the Kworld USB AM FM TV thing to provide FM to my CarPC, but didn't like the original skin that it came with (quite ugly)
I found out where they kept the bitmaps for everything but the Kworld logo itself, and changed it accordingly. Seems to work great, looks much better now too (especially at 640x480)
Didn't do the TV module just yet, don't really intend to use the TV features in the car, but I might if I get some requests.
Here is a screen shot of the new skin,
And here is the DLL you have to replace in the kworld directory.
I have the skin source in PSD format, but it's 10mb, email me if you want that, to create your own (it has the mask for the buttons, and a bunch of other layers), it's at 300dpi, you reduce it down to 72dpi when you are done.

If it's stuck, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway
Cool. How does it look at 800x600? Can it stretch to fill a 7 in screen? I just got a Kworld to replace my Dlink for FM, but neither one had large enough interface to work with touchscreen.

With a good antenna, it seems to be ok, but I haven't had the chance to put it in the car yet.Originally Posted by wi77iam
At 800x600, it's ok, the button hotspots are bigger than they look on my skin. I would recommend you set presets (9), and use them instead of tuning up and down (takes forever, does it in .05mhz increments, blah)
However, on the widescreen 800x600, its a little squashed. It would look best at 800x480ish, but my savage IX/MX vidchipeset doesn't support custom resolutions. At 800 wide, it takes about 75% of the width of the screen. I want to use external buttons for a lot of things anyway, so I'm not too worried about the touchscreen usability.
There aren't that many hotkeys available for all the functions. Here is a list of what's available.
MpegTV-Station provides a set of hot keys for your convince. The function of each key is as following:
Arrow Keys:
Up and Down:
In TV mode, they are used for channel up and channel down.
In FM mode, they are used for Scan Up and Scan Down.
Left and Right: Volume Adjustment.
Numeric Keys: Used for Channel Selection.
Function Keys:
F1: Pop up this Online Help.
F2: TV/FM mode switch.
F3: Mute/Un-Mute mode switch.
F4: Still Image Capture.
Come to think of it, that's probably adequate for external buttons to work well with it. We will see.

I had this in my car for just a short while. It sucks in the car. You will have to find some way to rigg a better antenna and also an antenna for the TV seperately from the radio. Good luck though.
I had a Kworld and was actually pretty dissapointed with it while using it in the car. I also have a d-link and it seems to work a lot better. It doesnt have the TV option but on the kworld this is pretty useless anyway with out a seperate antenna or cable tv.
