    Who uses linux?

    I need ideas, would love to hear from the ones who boot linux!

    no I mean as the main OS.

    Im wondering if people are actually booting to X or just writting shell scripts for mpg123 or something...

    Yes BMW's control sytem (climate control, nav etc) is running on embedded linux with their own x interface.

    i use linux with my mplayer frontend i have in development for in-car use. I boot right into fluxbox (X window manager) and my app starts right up. From a cold boot i'm running in around 20 seconds max. Its around 15 if i use the framebuffer and yes my app is all SDL so it supports being shown i the framebuffer

    Any chance u can release the bootscripts and stuff?

    Did you do a minimal linux distro or just make your own?

    No I don't use dashwerks. I use AIS. My very own personal creation. Speaking of which, I have to recompile ver 2.3

    Yes. On top of windowsxp. Boots into the screen in 35 seconds from cold. From hibernate, I can get back in abou 15 seconds. 1GHz C3, 128MB RAM. Times include bios post time of about 8 seconds
