I haven't coded it yet, but I'll work up a sample soon.

All I'm going to do is subclass my own form window, and wait for the
proper WM_POWERBROADCAST events and then act accordingly:

    pause on suspend
    play on resume

Maybe you can teach me some VB. It took me a few hours to figure out that I couldn't use AddressOf for functions which were members of a form. Instead I had to declare a module which did the AddressOf internally. Also what does subclass my own form window mean?

I couldn't find another way to do it, other then intercepting WinProc and waiting for the WM_POWERBROADCAST message-at least in VB 6.0. What have you found out?

I'm doing the same exact thing, and I did it real easy, I'll post code in a sec.

But in the meantime I tested this and it worked here, can you test it please ?

Run the program, then make the machine standby, textbox 1 should say it was suspended, then make the computer resume, textbox 2 should say resumed after it resumes

The best thing would be to know C++ AND VB, that is a master combination.
Of course, I've forgotten 99.9 % of C++, so I'm out of that combo
