    Can't install the program....

Not sure what the issue is here. I installed the .NET framework stuff and used installutil.exe to install ampctrl.exe. The install fails telling me about a win32 exception error and something about the username and or password is wrong. I'm installing using the administrator account so I'm not sure what up.

    Can anyone help me?

Would it be possible to do this with the parrallel port as well? I already have both of my serial ports being used by the gps and touchscreen. I want to be able to turn the amp on post startup, since when I get the thump by amp will sometimes put itself into protect mode and I will have to power cycle the amp to get it up again.

Yes it should be and you then have a whole bunch of extra lines to play with.

A small bit of programming should allow a user customizable interface that allowed individual pins to be 'switched' and as long as they were buffered with a bunch of transistors on a bit of breadboard you could build a really nice bit of kit. It could control the LCD touchscreen, remote amplifier, neons, spinning disco ball (lol) etc and you could also use a scripting language to control all of the functions with timers or event triggers.

A bit of C+ programming should do it.

Yes, but you can also just buy a USB->Serial adapter for ~$15.
