I just don't get it. That's because it's not my thing.
I do have similar problems (huge!) when I startup my pc.
So I made an extra switch to power my amps after windows is started. Using a wire of the com port is to hard for me.
I was looking @ conrad and found this. Is it possible to use it:
Delayed On/Off Switch
Article No.: 195901 - I5
When I connect it to my iggnition wire and set it to 150 sec. the pc is already half way. 300~500 sec. would be even better..
Maybe this one is even better??
please help me (us) out here!

this is a nice little app.. only thing i cant figure out is what pin do i connect it to in the serial port??
i tried this one out..
it switches the port but.. my amp wont turn on with the 6v it puts out
im gona have to use the 2n2222 trasistor
but it works nice.. thanks
another vote for a parallel solution here!
i've got no idea about programming so i can't do it myself but it would be really useful for people that
a)use their serial ports for ODBII or things like Cliffnet Wizard (myself included)
and/or
b)are lacking in free usb ports
Interested if anyone is using this via usb-serial converter, and have they had any problems in general with using this service?
This may be usefull, it can raise pins on the LPT port from command line.
so use a relay... Thats what I did but my amps turned on with out it I just thought it would be a better idea that way.
Wire it so when the the trigger from the amp ctrl engages it allows the normally closed part on the relay to connect the accessory wire to the amps.
This will do a couple of things for you. If your amp needs higher powered turn on then this will cover that. Windows will boot before any sounds get played but you won't miss any sounds becuase the service is started first. When you turn your key off it will stop playing music but if your car is like mine it doesn't stop until the door opens then it kills the accessory wire. That is one way to do it you could also wire the normally closed with a always connected 12v wire.
This service is the best way to control your amps.

Mike, you got a solution for this? I'd love to not have to sit there and wait when I move my car a short distance.Originally Posted by MikeH

I'm not sure I remember this thread so well, but I'll jump in here.Originally Posted by ITL
You could wire in a NC momentary switch inline from the PSU trigger to the mobo. Just push the button when you crank the car and the signal will not get sent to the mobo. Would that fix your problem?
