So is there a database for cops and cameras in the US?

Database for cops would probably be the phone book. Cop cars have radars built in so as soon as you see a cop, you're warned. They dont stay in the same spot all the time anyways so a Database for cops is pretty much useless. I dont think you need a database for cameras as all the cameras have warnings at least 200 feet before the camera. There are no speeding cameras in the hiway, only at intersections. Besides cameras are very very rare in the US.

Yea, there are atleast 6 in staten island (for redlights). As far as the signs, i havent seen any either.

We have many cams in the well-to-do cities like Troy and Royal Oak here in Michigan. They originally were announced as pedestrian cams (watching for prostitutes and stuff), then wonder of wonders, they somehow moved their focus onto and up the road from the intersections where they are stationed. Now people get tickets mailed to them. Ack.

he the government in Victoria Australia loves them, heaps of revenue, they are all over the place. where i live their is a block that has speed/red light cameras on every corner.

That wouldnt be good in NYC, according to this article 1.23 million red lights are ran daily. I think that will do short work of the NYC budget crisis.
