    Password entry w/ touchscreen

Does anyone have a good solution for automatically starting the on-screen keyboard during the windows login screen so I can enter a password when using my touchscreen? I know that I can use the Win XP Welcome screen to login but that only works without logging onto a domain.

There is a cool on-screen keyboard called SofType that says it can be enabled windows start-up but they want $200 for it.

A simple solution would be just starting the on-screen keyboard that comes with Win XP but I can't figure out how to have it start before the login prompt.

I would suggest obtaining (in any way possible) Windows XP Tablet Edition. It has an OSK so you can just punch in your password. That's what im doing.

Is a non-tablet PC compatible with Win XP Tablet edition?

Yes it would be. I use it on my desktop and car computer fine, no problems.

You could make your password blank.

You could configure XP to log on automatically so you would not have to use a password...

Get the onscreen keyboard from http://www.my-t-soft.com/
and they have an auto-login utility that comes with it. The keyboard is nice but expensive $99 but the login utility is free.
Just download it to use as trialware.

    Auto Login

I can't leave my password blank because I'm logging into the domain at work and they have the strict password rules turned on. I can use the "DefaultAdminLogin" register key to auto login but that would also get me in trouble with the security police. I think I've located a copy of XP Tablet so I'll try that solution. It would also be cool if I could use the speech and hand writing recognition features in the car.

    Windows XP Tablet Edition

I just got this version of Win XP loaded and it works awesome! The OSK is perfect and it even has pretty sweet hand-writing and speech reckognition tools built in.

    thanks for the input.
