From what I am seeing the Album and artist sortation is pulled from the ID3 tag of the file .. What this means is I have alot of work ahead of me to make all my tags correct since they are all over the place. since i know nothing about ID3 tags , what do you need 1 or 2 or should they both be the same?

IDV1 atleast, or both. May I suggest getting MusicMatch JukeBox which has a supertagging feature, where you can dump a list of random untagged mp3s and it will figure out what the ID3 info is. Very nice feature. Or you can just go into winamp and make a playlist out of your random songs, and putting them in the playlist dir, and out of the album's directory.

    Bug report here:

I have istalled LIVE player onto my laptop just to see how it looks like. Once done, I have replaced EXE by latest patch version. However, every time I try to lauch it I get "Failed to created Direct3D device" error. Direct3D can be tested with dxdiag sucesfully anyway. The OS I run is W2K/SP4 w. DX9.0b. Graphic card is ATI RageMobility (drivers dated 20.9.2001).

Make sure you are running 32-bit color. And that your desktop res is greater than 640x480(I am sure it is). Usually this is error is from the desktop color setting is not, or cannot do 32-bit color

    Let me know,

I was running 16 bit 1024x768. Unfortunatelly, setting 32 bit did not help anyway.

[QUOTE=TimmyM]I've installed it on two computers. Computer one, car-computer, when I go to start it says "The required display mode is not available on this system."

I am running 800x600 24bit colors(the most that I can), since I can't run it at 32bit color could this be the reason for the error?

I am quite sure tha tis the problem. I need to look into what I need to do, to allow different display color depths...

i just installed live and i must say i like the way u can search the music..

all the other players i have tried sofar just have the playlist and dont let u search..

being a beta version i know there is still more to go into it.. here are some ideas from me..
is there a way to make it automaticly start up in the audio section.. as i wont be using anything else apart from maybe video's every now and then?

Edit: i been playing with it alot more and i still like it but... some times i want to fast forward a song.. and there is no button for it..

also the music volume starts low every time i open the program up.. is there a way to change the volume on start up?

Thanks for trying out the software,

When you say start in the audio section, do you mean the album browser, or the music playing screen. Right now there is a way to fast forward, but I do not have a button for it. We are trying to think about a different way to do the skin to allow for some more buttons. Right now it does not have space. I have a remote with my system, and I have mapped FF, and Rew to 'L' and 'K' on the keyboard. As for volume defaults I need this in the INI file. I will do this as a percentage.

    Thanks,
    Quincy
