The basic premise is a filter graph (graph theory can get hairy, but in this case you dont need to know much about it), and then you request that directX pumps video and audio through that graph.

VB must have DirectX access right?

Yes it does have DirectX access. I just don't know C++ (so I can read the source of that particular app) or DirectX enough to figure out what to do. I am trying to learn. If anyone wants to help I'd be thankful.

Frodo, I just tried it and it is pretty cool, do you think you will be adding a record feature and integrating it into FP?

I'm not sure about recording, but I will have some type of rearview in there.

    Frodo

    This might interest you:

    http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/express/default.aspx

You can get fully functional Visual Studio 2003's tailored to different languages, its a great tool to get into c++/c#

I dont know if you already do c#, but its now at the stage where you could write a real commercial app using it, and the syntax and class library is similar to what you are already familiar with in VB.

Hope you get some fun out of these...

I just thought that someone would like to record themselves while on a roadtrip with friends or something like that.
