There is an install of linux that is only about 30Meg, complete with Xwindows... Only I haven't found anything that will compete with some of the windows shells available on these pages. Anyone know of any good car based Linux software? Anyone concidering porting thier software to Linux?

Anyway, have a look at http://womp.sourceforge.net for that small Linux install.

dug, its an operating system! What screenshot would you take of Linux or XP, I bet they are not the operating system either, but rather some app running on the O/S

qnx is for serious applications, like a heart monitor in a hosital, something that you want to switch on, it and it work for the next 10 years without failing.

The sort of applications you will find this in are medial, military etc.

If all you want are pretty screenshots, then you are looking for application software, not operating systems. Theres not really any good screenshot of the memory manager shuffling freed blocks, or the scheduler interrupting a process to serice an interrupt...

Haven't tried and don't plan on using it. I saw it in use once, and posted in another thread that I was not impressed. I was just throwing it out there as an option.
