As of yet there's no real all encompassing solution, though Frodoplayer with street atlas has been working quite well for me.
I have been running my setup through a traditional pc/desktop environment. I really, really want to use something more visually appealing and streamlined.
I still use my stock stereo for AM/FM, CD's. The only thing my car pc does is play MP3's, GPS, and play DVD's for the kids on long road trips.
What, in everyones opinion, is the easiest to set up and use and is stable.
Media Engine, Frodoplayer, etc. etc.
Using Win98SE, Delorme Earthmate GPS w/ Street Atlas (would like to switch to different mapping package) and I have been using Arby's Winamp3 skin.
Media engine has great looking skins available (really liked the new volvo one) but it seems to have way more support for things I don't need or want. Everyones opinion is welcome and appreciated.
Thanks
