Oh yeah I will trust a windows powered computer with my life, HA. I would rather get killed because I made a judgement error, than because a computer encountered a glich.

Eventually this level of computer involvement in our lives will happen, but I will fight for my right to drive, and drive a 0mpg city, .5 mpg highway car with gazillion horsepower, and not a freaking prius with half a horse, donuts for wheels and interior made of recycled toilet paper.

ya i once had an interview with a computer security company in NYC and I got to the interview at like 8:30 when i was supposed to and they asked if I had a good night in NYC.. I was like huh? I took the train down. So then the guy says that must have been like a 8 hour train ride. So I go.. I live in Albany not the north pole.. we are like 3 hours north of you, I come down here at least 2 times a month.

Its funny how true NYC people never leave the city and they think the country is a street with no lights.

Wow man. Switch to decaf or something. I like to drive too. But, look at this for what it is, an expiriment for a new technology. You're going to be able to drive a car yourself for a long time, even after it's impractical to own one, or use it as personal transportation.

You can't stop technology though. A lot of people had your attitude about cars around a century ago. They'd rather we stuck to horses forever. And while they were unable to stop cars from coming, you can still ride a horse today if you want.

I can see a possible future where some roads are designed for computer driven vehicles, and you won't be allowed to drive yourself. Then as time goes on, and the ratio of computer controlled cars to manully driven cars increases, the ratio of road types will do the same. Sooner or later, I might be *****ing about not having enough roads to go have fun on. Similar to what some horse owner's may be saying today. I just think it's too early to start complaining about this.

I believe they already have a production car that does this, the toyata prius in Japan i think you can have the option of an automated parking system.
    Edit:
Found article about it, this has been out for some time in japan

Interesting. I wonder how many banged up cars they had before they got it right?

In the video he WAY overshot the parking space. Did he just do that to demonstrate that the car can go backwards straight?? Also, this seems to be under IDEAL conditions. I wonder if it has the ability straighten itself up if it goes crooked or isn't initially positioned right?

Nice proof in concept. Perhaps a fantastic x-mas present for a certain female in my life. But not for me.
