How to screencap alpha blending???

Ok, here's something that's driving me nutz:

I was finalizing a few things in my project, and remembered a couple folks asking about some videos of the interface in action. I got to thinking about that and starting looking around for a screen capture prog that can capture video. Well, every single stinking one I found seemed willing enough to do its job, BUT, my project uses variable alpha blending to fade between system windows. This means that although the progs pick up the main screen just fine, when I select a submenu, nothing changes, because apparently the fade effect is invisible to these programs.

Anybody have any ideas, short of disabling the fades? I'd rather not kill them, since they're part of the "new hotness" effect of the whole interface. If there isn't anything viable out there, then I will probably end up doing a more thorough web-mockup in Flash or something. (Although I know two things about Flash: diddley and squat).

Heres a simple way, tv ouptut to vcr, then capture it via vid source in will that work? not the best way but it will work

It *could* work, in theory at least, and HEY! I just bought a new VCR! Good project to try it out! I'll give it a fling I guess, but I don't have too many high hopes for clarity or quality.
