come on -- someone throw some ideas out or something
Here's another problem I have. Sometimes when I come out of hibernation, the computer's master volume will be muted. I'll click on a song in Media Engine, and it'll show me that it's playing, but nothing is coming out of the speakers.
I go to the sound settings in the control panel and the mute box is unchecked, but if i Check it, then uncheck it ... the sound suddenly comes on... Anyone have any ideas as this is KILLLING ME!

I'm guessing this is an issue with Media Engine. Does this happen if your just using winamp go into hibernation then resume windows? How about Windows Media Player? Try different combinations of applications to narrow down the possibilities...this helps everyone help you![]()
Never thought to try those options out... I'll go do that..

Ok, it does it for every program .. not just Media Engine. The voices in routis are muted, if I open something in Media Player it's muted... anyone have any ideas?

I googled your problem and didn't get any difinitive answers. I did find this...

Seems like a long shot. Are you using the latest versions of your audio drivers? Latest Windows service packs?
Hmm -- interesting -- I'll update the drivers if they have any ... I'm thinking about just reformatting the HD and resintalling everything. It all worked great for about 3 weeks then a few problems popped up and I have no idea why.... weird.
Thanks!

Did you backup before you made the changes? If so, revert to the most recent backup, change the hibernation time to 1 minute and see if it helps, if not try the next previous backup.
If you are like me, the answer is no and I will just end up reloading loading the system and then doing the backups after every major system change trying to recreat the problem but it does not happen again.![]()
that's the thing -- i didn't change anything .. it just started acting coo-coo.... the complete reinstall is scheduled for this weekend...

Then I wish you a trouble free reload!
Not that I have to tell you, but you should get a snapshot of your device manager before you format. Might help save driver/config issues later!
