Did you get the XMPCR with the digital output? That's the one I'm thinking of ordering (not too confident with my soldering skills to do it myself).
I just got my XMPCR looked up and wanted to try out other software.
I have MyXM and it didnt seem to work.
The s/w that came with it seems alright, but that oval shape isnt going to embed real well in MC.
I couldnt find either extremeXM or TouchXM anywhere to download.
Any suggestions about the nicest, skinable XM front end? Ideally one that could be skinned like the dark brushed metal of Feb.
Frodo, I understand you are writing on, will yours be standalone so it can be embeded in MC?
Thanks All

No, its pretty basic, it has USB for control (its actually a serial/USB converter), an antenna with miles of cable, and a 3.5mm jack for audio out (analog).
I didnt even know they were bringing out a digital model, makes sense though, seems silly taking digital audio and turning it into analog so it can be fed into the sound card for mixing.
The quality I thought was CD level, but it certainly isnt, its not distored or anything, but you can 'hear' its compressed, hard to describe, but if you play around with audio compression for a while you get a feel for what compressed audio sounds like, and this has that sound. Maybe its this unit, im not sure.
I need something now as a front end that's rectangular so it 'fits' MC...

But still it is worth a try....
I too am waiting patiently for a good XM application for the car PC world.... maybe the pink assed Monkey man will get his going here soon![]()
Oh yeah, the digital output is an aftermarket deal. I bought mine with it.... can't remember the site, but it is listed somewhere on the same site that the above link takes you too....
You can buy a kit to modify yours to digital output.... it is well worth it...
thanks, trying it now...
I get (soon as I run it), invalid port error. I couldnt find an ini file either. Any ideas?
thanks

They aren't, the digital model is an aftermarket option. You can do itOriginally Posted by mobileh1
yourself with a kit or buy it pre-fabbed.
It's not your unit, it's how they encode it, it is getting better though. The quality I thought was CD level, but it certainly isnt, its not distored or anything, but you can 'hear' its compressed, hard to describe, but if you play around with audio compression for a while you get a feel for what compressed audio sounds like, and this has that sound. No, it's a mod that the XM-PCR community made. You can either just buy the mod and do it yourself or buy an already modded XM-PCR: http://store.myradiostore.com/xmwitoopdiou.html
I read it gets much better audio quality (obviously).
This is the kit.
