    Local/Online CDDB

Does anyone know much about CDDB or how it works? I plan to integrate into my carpc software a Local CDDB that will download from the net and update when ever it gets a connection from an WiFi access point. Any suggestions?
CarPC install is starting to come along again...

    It's about 1.3 gigs unzipped

I've been working on a parser to put it into an access database.
So far it's about 1000% faster than any of the ones out there.

I'll post it up when I get done.

You may take that piece of code from pycar project:
    http://pymedia.sourceforge.net/pycar

    In src-zip it is pycar/audio/cddb.py
    Good luck.

How do you get the entire database without paying the service from Gracenote? when I checked into it, I found that you have to go to www.gracenote.com and pay them to have the access to the database...along with mp3 license fees...just curious

I don't use CDDB. I use FreeDB. Why pay when I can get the same thing for free ?

I'm hoping to get local/remote FreeDB access into AIMEE.

It's the next thing on my list of "to-do's"

It's not in a good enough state yet. But when it is I will give you a holler.

Would this perhaps be based off of that DB parsing code you should me a little while ago? 'Cause I'm still trying to get the stains out of my chair when I ****ed my pants watching that thing in action.
