i have powerDVD. how can i just extract the codec used to play the dvd's?

on my desktop computer, i have powerdvd. i plan to use wmp on my carpc...and it needs a codec to access and play the dvd's, right? i do not want to install powerdvd because it is a very heavy and slow program.

not that wmp isn't. but just the same...

i think u can simply uninstall powerdvd after its been installed and it should leave the powerdvd codec on yr system, thats another option.

read the readme in the zip file - just run the exe once extracted to a folder and it should install the codec

    thanks!

okay...for anyone else who may be looking for these files... they are in the Program Files > Cyberlink > Shared Files directory.

and during the uninstall, it'll ask you if you want to delete the shared files, as they will not be used by any programs...say no to these
