it's pretty much dead. the developers REFUSED to work with me at all. you guys can try and contact them and explain the situation.. the guy (gary i think) kept promising me he'd talk to his supervisor, or his supervisor would call me back and let me know if he could give a discount rate for the readyon software for just 1 user ... but never got back to me, and I gave up after a couple of weeks of playing phone tag. good luck.

sorry to bring back an old thread...but I am employed with the company that makes readyon...can someone give me a rundown on what issues people were having? I know a lot of things have changed since the last post in 05..

It can be run on XP Pro as opposed to use Embedded...that in itself is a huge advantage.
Also, I don't know if EWF/HORM allow you to "unwritefilter" certain drives. The current version of ReadyON allows you to leave certain drives alone, so that you can save things that will remain in their "new" state once you reboot.

I'm using EWF+HORM on XP Pro. MSFT is aware that a lot of hobbyists are using it and they haven't said anything in over 2 years, so I guess they're okay with it... You can configure EWF for specific volumes and keep other volumes read/write. They also have a File Based Write Filter with the latest Feature Pack.
