its funny cause last night I searched for "XM PCR"[ebay] and there where no matches , this morning I searched again and there where 2 units for sale - both over $100 with like 5 days left........
I dont mind paying "extra" for this, only thing is what if they discontinue the service - then this units are useless
my luck is that ill buy ones of these unit at $100+ then when im about to put it in my carPC they will discontinue the service[my carPC should be done and installed in about a month]
Im already on it...... There is a new model called the xm direct tuner....msrp 49$ if we could make a serial adapter to connect to its interface port we would have a xm pcr....any help in this would be great, from what ive found all xm receivers use the same protocol as the pcr....and from the looks of it we will have to just convert TTL to rs232 for connection....That's too funny. What about getting the song data from a roady or skyfi? I think there is some discussion about this on the xmfan site.
I just urge everyone to not contact XM in this matter...we dont want them to change protocols on us or something

you can go to www.terk.com but the direct isnt going to be availble for another 2 weeks.... it seems the commander is the same tuner though but costs 200, but is available nowI've been looking into the direct as well. We'll see what turns up.

No, not really. I bought mine with specific uses in mind and one in backup I haven't read anything to make me change my mind about that yet. I wish I had bought a few more though. BTW....there is someone that goes by the name of Ziggy with the company I bought mine from and the seller in that auction has "ziggy" in his seller name.
