I sugest that you try it with the powerswitch. This will allow to narrow the possible causes. But if with the opus it worked ok, I think it's a shutdown controler problem.Originally Posted by jeremyp111
No because the powerswitch button is disconnected from the MB. It's replaced by the green/black wires that come from the Carnetix P1260 to control shutdown. It's weird cuz it worked flawlessly with the Opus, but not the Carnetix. Sometimes it works (not very often) but most times it doesn't.Originally Posted by Laidback

I had this problem after doing some tweaks that were supposed to increase my boot time.
The laptop would go into hibernation, but when turning back on it would not un-hibernate, it would give me the option to 'delete restoration data' and reboot from scratch. I had to reformat to get hibernate working again.
You could try just re-installing windows though
I'm using a Carnetix CN-P1260 with a Cubid 3688 case and Epia MII12000 mobo.
It is set to hibernate when the power switch is pressed an when the PSU turns it off it enters hibernation Ok and resumes when I turn the ignition on again.
You could check your settings in the power options in control panel and also check to see if you get the "Resuming Windows" display at boot time.

OK, I found the problem. As I suspected, sometimes the power was being shut off to the PC by the Carnetix just before it was finished hibernating. I exited out of everything prior to turning off the IGN and it would be fine. It took 28 seconds to hibernate from that state and the Carnetix would shut off power at 30 seconds. It worked fine everytime. When I tried turning off the IGN with MediaCar loaded it would take it 30 seconds to hibernate/shutoff. I changed the jumper on the Carnetix to shut off power after 90 seconds instead of 30 seconds and it works flawlessly now. Now i have a nice fast boot from hibernation time of about 19-20 seconds. Hope this helps some of you who have the same problem. Thanks for all of the helpful posts.
I notice on my EPIA-V when I installed the Touchkit driver, that if you didn't install the shutdown controller, and it didn't load before the touchscreen driver that XP would standby or hibernate...
Also use the newest 3.x Lilliput driver as it allows right mouse button clicks by touching the screen over 2 or 3 seconds instead of having that silly mouse button program...
