Yeah, it's WAY different from editing the 98 splash screen. You have to edit all kinds of stuff. Let me see if I can find the program I used to use...
Anyone know anything about changing the boot screen when Windows XP is loading? The one with the blue bar going across in the middle. I know in windows 98, it was the logo.sys file but never worked out how to edit it/make it animate.

I think it was called XP Edit, I don't really remember, but it looks right. Try that.
make sure to backup your ntoskrnl.exe file. That's where the boot stuff is stored.
go get this http://www.stardock.com/products/bootskin/
don't worry i know i usually don't make much sense
@sagekoala: That program looks a little safer to use. Looks like it doesn't make changes to the ntoskrnl. Do you actually use it? I see on their website that it may be incompatible with some drivers/bios?
use bootxp
CarPC install is starting to come along again...
Yeah! That's the one I used to use, couldn't remember what it was called.Originally Posted by Grayscale
I use LogonUI Boot Randomizer. It's free, can do both Boot and Login screens, and works with SP1 and SP2.
