Isn't there an offline utility that draws the route and speed in a map? I don't have internet on my carputer and i would like to draw data to my usb stick so if anybody drive my car, i unplug the usb stick and watch where and when and how fast he has drove :-)

Not that I have found, I've been working on something similar though, there's another thread with map samples and so on.

Been meaning to test the app for you. Here's data from my trip home tonight. McLean, VA to Annandale, VA. I started the app in the parking garage so it probably takes awhile to get a lock.

I ran the data file through GPSvisualizer.com and got the attached. Got a nice note from Adam Schneider as well. This track was an 11 mile trip in Northern Virginia, USA but for some reason, the tracker got a single point way up in Michigan. I thought it was just a straight line or an error with the file but Adam looked at it and said all the other points were legit.

As I start the app before I left a parking garage, the GPS didn't have a lock on any satellites. I expect that is the reason for the spurious point. Anyhow, you might look at some kind of filter that says if the point requires one to travel faster than, say 200 mph, to get there and back, it's unlikely to be "good" data.

I cleaned up some of the wild points, obviously not all of them though but it's much closer.

Yup! That's more like it, except for the obvious jump. Looks like it got some kind of initial lock as I exited the garage, then jumped me over the Potomac river for a minute or two, then got a real lock and put me back where I was supposed to be. The exit ramps and path home are all dead on.

    Very cool!

Hmm. Do you guys have any recommendations for com sharing apps?

    Found this: http://www.finaldownload.com/product..._software.html

Havent tried any of those apps yet though. I'm going on a roadtrip and it would be nice to have access to both gps and this app to view the route later

The Eltima one is supposed to be very good but quite expensive, I have not used it. The trial may be enough for you.

I have used Comfoolery with some successs (with a helper app), do a search and you'll find info, it's here somewhere.

Doesnt IGuidance have the ability to save a route? If so I/m sure you could import a route. So if you could figure out the formatting, you could probably view your route on the IGuidance map. I would really like to upload this info, real-time, via ftp to a server running on my home desktop and map it so that I know where my truck is at all times.
