You'll be able to play the file off a CD. Its not like windows is gonna boot that fast, even on a 3.2ghz p4 with 2gigs of ram from hybernation. The POST takes atleast 2 secondsOriginally Posted by Acid burn

Now the thing what interests me the most is the - integr. PlayNow! Bios, my question is, can some thing like this can be accomplished with a M10000 ? The mainboard in the product is also a via mini ITX so is gues .....
with the - integr. PlayNow! Bios they claim to be able to play a mp3 after for about 2 seconds of boot time . That would be gr8
thats only indash if you have a hummer or some other vehicle that has 10" length in the dash...my honda doesnt...i doubt many others do
DICE Los Angeles
I think ya guys don't understand me, this system can play mp3 files from the harddisk directly from the bios, of course a system can't boot in 2sec i know that.
With a keyboard interface I'm sure. I'm VERY surprised someone hasn't written a front end for an EPIA that runs inplace of an OS (which I guess would make it an OS)

You missed a bit out of the description
- PlayNow! Bios (DVD/MP3/SVCD Player available after 2 seconds boot time)
- IR remote control for controlling PlayNow! AND computer !
It has series of buttons on the front to control the playnow! functions that are available 2 seconds after the POST. I.e doesn't need an Operating system to have booted up to play DVD/MP3/SVCD's but will boot into an OS if you let it.
I guess someone has finally got around to using the Hi-PC bios that VIA touted back in 2002 and got it packaged up for CarPC use.
Big question then - which MB and what BIOS
Well found a link with loads more info and piccys
@yunusyu and ppl thinking same thing.
